Key Responsibilities
1. Conduct thorough name screenings and investigations, utilizing internal systems and external resources to identify potential risks.
2. Analyze customer transactions to identify patterns of unusual or suspicious activity, documenting red flags and escalating concerns to senior team members and managers.
3. Prepare and file STRs and LVCTRs in compliance with FINTRAC regulations, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
4. Collaborate with internal teams to share best practices and stay up-to-date on regulatory changes. Participate in regular training sessions and team meetings to enhance your knowledge and skills.
5. Utilize data analytics tools to monitor and analyze customer activity, identifying trends and anomalies that may indicate potential money laundering or terrorist financing activities.
Requirements
1. Proven experience in AML roles within banking or fintech industries. High level of analytical skill and attention to detail are required.
2. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment. Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability are essential in this role.
3. Familiarity with Bitcoin and virtual currencies, with basic knowledge of blockchain technology and its applications.
4. Fluency in both English and French, with strong writing and presentation skills.
