As an Environmental Conservation Specialist, you will have the opportunity to work on a Full-Time role with a flexible work location, where you can work out of our Markham, Mississauga, Hamilton or Kitchener office locations.

This position is ideally suited to a junior scientist or engineer seeking a mix of field and office responsibilities.

The estimated salary for this position is $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Field Tasks:
    • Sample collection of various media (soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, soil vapour, etc.) as part of environmental site investigations, design work packages, and confirmation of remediation programs.
    • Oversight of contractors.
    • Monitoring and maintenance of remediation systems.
    • General field inspection and field survey.
    • Construction / remediation construction field services oversight.
    • Safety tailgate meetings and hazard assessments.
  • Office Tasks:
    • Coordination and preparation for field programs
    • Preparation of safety plans and hazards assessments
    • Data tabulation and data evaluation against provincial and federal environmental requirements
    • Support of Engineering calculations and design.
    • Support of deliverable preparation including reports, engineering specifications, and associated drawings.

Qualifications:

  • Will be completing or have completed a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline: Environmental Science, Geoscience, or Environmental Engineering.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Eligible eventual licensing as a Registered Professional Engineer or Professional Geoscientist in Ontario.
  • Valid driver's license.
