We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Manager to join our Construction & Project Management Services Group in British Columbia. The successful candidate will report to the Regional Manager, BC Region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define project scope and deliverables, ensuring constructability.
  • Develop comprehensive tender packages.
  • Participate in project meetings with contractors and consultants.
  • Communicate effectively with project stakeholders.
  • Manage project costs to meet budget requirements.
  • Provide direction on contracts and subcontracts, understanding contract types and strategies.
  • Manage construction schedules and activities across multiple projects.
  • Provide regular progress updates on costs and timelines.
  • Select and manage subcontractor and supplier relationships.
  • Coordinate project efforts with regulatory bodies, architects, designers, engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Manage permit applications.
  • Assist with proposal submission documents.
  • Coordinate with regulatory bodies and utility companies.
  • Monitor contractor safety programs and compliance.
  • Provide onsite construction management for subcontractor activities across BC and Alberta.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Building Construction, Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture, or equivalent project experience.
  • At least 7 years of experience in project delivery within the construction industry, including pre-construction and contract closeout activities.
  • Desirable experience in Demolition, Civil/Excavation, Retrofit, Restoration, and/or Tenant Improvement projects.
  • PMP designation or equivalent is considered an asset.
  • Competent in interpreting construction documents and drawings.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Project.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer software.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction, engineering, and architecture principles.
  • Ability to budget, schedule, negotiate, and control costs.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
