Job Title: Math and Science Teacher

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Math and Science Teacher to join our team at Fort McMurray Islamic School. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Math, Science, and other classes listed in the Alberta Education Programs of Study.

Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Education degree
  • Awareness and support for the Fort McMurray Islamic School's Education Vision document and mission statement
  • Child-centered approach to instruction and teacher/student relationships
  • Effective organizational skills and classroom management
  • Strong knowledge of the curriculum and teaching experience in division 1 or division 2
  • Strong work ethic and open to new programs and initiatives
  • Understanding and support for district big 3 initiatives: healthy and active school, high academics, and environmental stewardship
  • Balanced approach to literacy
  • Ability to design and implement individual program plans for special needs students
  • Willingness to incorporate differentiated instruction and response to intervention to provide for individual needs

The ideal candidate will possess superior organizational and interpersonal skills and have knowledge of curriculum and teaching experience at those levels/subject areas. All candidates must hold an Alberta Teaching Certificate.
