Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Service Technician to join our team in Mississauga, ON.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a skilled technician to work on various types of heavy equipment, including construction, aggregate, and forestry-based machines. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical and technical knowledge, excellent diagnostic skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate the working condition of heavy equipment, diagnose issues, and repair or replace parts as needed.
  • Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Dismantle, repair, and assemble industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to specifications.
  • Operate hoisting devices to position machinery and parts during assembly, installation, and/or repair activities.
  • Test and provide constructive feedback on existing and newly manufactured industrial equipment.
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair malfunctioning machinery and equipment.
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery.
  • Prepare electronic inspection and service reports.
  • Locate and order parts from suppliers.
  • Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A certified journeyperson designation in heavy equipment technology or equivalent trade experience.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Proven computer and technical aptitude for diagnostics and calibration work.
  • Demonstrated diagnostic skills to understand mechanical and technical equipment repair needs.
  • Excellent time-management skills to perform effectively under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with customers, colleagues, and branch personnel.
  • A commitment to high-quality customer service with a strong people orientation.
Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as RRSP matching and paid vacation time.
