Splunk Technical Analyst Job Description

CB Canada is seeking a highly skilled Splunk Technical Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for onboarding data from various systems to Splunk environments and building powerful user interactive dashboards to meet business needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform data onboarding from small, midsize, and enterprise-level systems to Splunk environments.
  • Build and deploy Splunk applications for various components, including forwarders, indexers, and search heads.
  • Provide technical and consulting support to project teams to identify and meet data onboarding and dashboarding needs.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on Splunk and provide guidance on best practices.
  • Develop and implement code development and deployment processes, ensuring adherence to best practices.
  • Ensure application availability and stability in multiple environments.
  • Analyze business and technology challenges and recommend appropriate IT solutions.
  • Resolve issues that affect application stability, crossing multiple systems or departments.
Requirements:
  • Good understanding of Splunk architecture and add-ons/content packs.
  • Ability to apply Splunk best practices for data onboarding and building dashboards.
  • Expertise in Splunk configurations for onboarding data into Splunk.
  • Fluency in Splunk SPL queries to build alerts, dashboards, and reports.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with Splunk Dashboard Studio, IT Service Intelligence (ITSI), and Machine Learning Toolkit (MLTK).
  • Proven track record in installing Splunk software and developing Splunk apps for various components.
  • Deploying and managing applications in public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and/or private cloud platforms (OpenStack, VMware).
  • Troubleshooting and resolving Splunk configuration issues.
  • Exposure to Splunk Cloud administration.
  • Well-versed in Linux commands.
  • Exposure to database systems such as SQL Server, Oracle, etc., and networking infrastructure such as firewall, load balancers, DNS, active directory, etc.
  • Certifications preferred - Splunk Enterprise Certified Admin, Splunk ITSI Certified Admin, Splunk Certified Developer.
