The First Nations University of Canada is seeking qualified individuals to join its Board of Governors. The Board plays a crucial role in shaping the university's strategic direction and ensuring its continued success.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide governance and oversight to the university's operations
  2. Contribute to the development and implementation of the university's strategic plan
  3. Ensure the university's financial stability and sustainability
  4. Advise on academic matters, including university policies and processes
  5. Support the university's commitment to First Nations education and community engagement
  6. Bring expertise in governance, business, and general management to the Board
  7. Contribute to the selection and appointment of the university's leadership team

Qualifications:

  1. Proven experience in governance, business, and general management
  2. Strong financial management skills
  3. Academic background or experience in education administration
  4. First Nations education and community engagement experience
  5. Community-based traditional knowledge and expertise
  6. Institutional fund development and corporate law experience
  7. Labour relations and conflict resolution skills
