We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Locates Coordinator to join our team at Tomlinson Group of Companies. As a key member of our utility management team, you will be responsible for ordering and processing public and private utility locates, ensuring seamless coordination with various utility companies and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Order, manage, and process underground utility locates, including public and private utilities.
  • Manage locate tickets and update information provided by utility companies, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Navigate the Ontario One website to request underground locates using the mapping system, ensuring efficient and effective coordination.
  • Create and maintain accurate locate packages, including all necessary documentation and information.
  • Remark locates prior to expiry and archive them when jobs are complete, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with various utility companies to receive sketches and ensure timely completion of locate requests.
  • Manage various email inboxes and respond to inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Request clearances from Enbridge and Hydro Ottawa, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with private locators internally and externally, ensuring seamless coordination and communication.
  • Work with different project coordinators, project managers, and foremen within Tomlinson to coordinate all locate documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Aiding with schedule administration, including booking accommodations for out-of-town crews.

Requirements:

  • Construction Engineering Technician or similar, or an additional 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of utility management and coordination.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate with various stakeholders.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel.
  • A valid driver's license, with the ability to travel to various locations as required.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of work and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • SAP knowledge is considered an asset, but not required.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • Comfortable working in an office setting as well as outdoors, in various weather conditions, including rain, heat, and snow.
  • Must have the physical ability to walk across rough construction terrain.
