About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Recreation Aide in the Adult Inpatient Program, Complex Services at the Centennial Centre for Mental Health and Brain Injury. Our centre is a campus of specialists and health professionals committed to integrated, multi-disciplinary care and treatment to ensure the best outcomes for patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team to support addiction and mental health patients
  • Coordinate unit, off-unit, and community programs and other activities
  • Assist in planning and implementation of recreational and leisure activities
Requirements
  • Completion of Grade 12
  • Completion of Health Care Aide or Mental Health Aide Certificate or equivalent
  • Current BCLS-HCP Level C-Health Care Provider
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the public, patients, and staff
  • At least one year of experience working with patients in a mental health setting
Preferred Qualifications
  • Valid Class 4 Driver License
  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NCI)
  • Skills in a variety of recreational activities
