About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Bridge Engineer to join our team at COWI A/S. As a Bridge Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing sustainable infrastructure solutions for our clients in North America.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop work plans, schedules, and budgets for complex bridge projects.
- Perform analysis of bridge structures and prepare design calculations and drawings in accordance with applicable design codes.
- Prepare engineering reports and other technical documents to support project delivery.
- Conduct site inspections and perform other functions as required to ensure project success.
- Plan, evaluate, and adapt work using independent judgment and innovative problem-solving approaches.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering (Master's degree preferred) with a minimum of 4 years of related experience in bridge design.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer in your home province or state, or ability to obtain registrations in Nova Scotia within 12 months of employment.
- Familiarity with structural design codes such as CSA-S6, CSCE, and AASHTO, as well as experience with structural analysis software programs.
- Proficiency in engineering software such as Excel and Mathcad to efficiently produce engineering calculations.
- Knowledge of parametric conceptual designs and experience with programming environments like Dynamo and Grasshopper.
- Ability to prepare proposals and participate in business development, as well as willingness to travel.
- Excellent communication skills to deliver concise and high-quality technical deliverables.
