Job Summary

Wood's Homes is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to fill the role of a full-time permanent overnight Youth and Family Counsellor I in our Cottage 1 program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and maintain a structured setting that fosters the development of personal and social functioning for each client.
  • Participate actively in supervisory meetings, team meetings, and retreats, planning sessions, and designated in-service training.
  • Assume therapeutic responsibilities for particular children, youth, and their families, including attendance at case conferences, involvement in intervention strategies, consultations, school meetings, doctor's appointments, family meetings, etc.
  • Maintain the upkeep of the living space of the program and ensure the provision of a program that meets the requirements of the Licensing Department.
  • Perform a variety of tasks associated with program functioning, including meal preparation, cleaning, and transportation of children, youth, and families.
  • Execute other responsibilities as may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • Diploma/Undergraduate Degree in the Social Sciences, Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Nursing, or a related field, with a minimum of two to four years of related experience.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Experience in working with young people is preferred.
  • Current proof of professional registration may be required for certain diplomas or degrees.
  • A valid Class 5 driver's license and own transportation are required.
