Job Description

The Director of Equity, Inclusion, and Human Rights plays a pivotal role in shaping the Edmonton Police Service's commitment to fairness, equity, and human rights.

Reporting to the Executive Director of Value and Impact, this senior leader is responsible for developing and implementing strategies that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization.

  • Lead a multifunctional team in developing, implementing, and monitoring organization strategies and action plans related to equity, inclusion, and human rights.
  • Provide strategic advice to the executive leadership on equity, inclusion, and human rights principles and standards.
  • Ensure that all organizational policies and practices are aligned with equity, inclusion, and human rights principles.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders to advance equity, inclusion, and human rights initiatives.
  • Implement and oversee the Edmonton Police Service's Equity and Inclusion Branch, ensuring alignment with EPS's vision and mission.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of equity, inclusion, and human rights principles, as well as excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
