We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security and Parking Officer to join our team at the University of Northern British Columbia. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety and security of our university community, enforcing parking and security policies, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular patrols of university parking lots, buildings, and properties to ensure campus security and remove any safety hazards.
  • Act as the first responder on site and provide emergency first aid and medical services to university community members and visitors.
  • Monitor and maintain first aid supplies, alarms, and closed-circuit camera systems.
  • Provide "Safe Walk" services to students and staff, and issue parking citations with placement and removal of vehicle immobilization devices.
  • Participate in investigations of incidents, prepare incident reports, and ensure facilities are appropriately locked or unlocked as needed.
  • Use judgment and discretion to contact and assist emergency services when necessary.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma and minimum one year related experience.
  • Occupational First Aid Certificate Level II, valid B.C. Security Worker License, and valid Class 5 BC Driver's License.
  • A clear criminal record check and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to respond to contentious and sensitive issues with discretion.
