Job Summary:

Southbridge Care Homes is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activity Aide to join our team at Southbridge Cornwall. As an Activity Aide, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by planning and implementing engaging activities that promote their physical, emotional, and social well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized activity plans that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our residents.
  • Coordinate and lead group activities, such as arts and crafts, games, and exercise programs, to promote socialization and cognitive stimulation.
  • Collaborate with the Resident Program Manager and other departments to ensure seamless delivery of services and programs.
  • Maintain accurate records of resident participation and program evaluations.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to ensure a positive and supportive environment.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology, or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Experience in program planning and implementation for diverse populations, including those with cognitive impairments.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of geriatric care and the ability to adapt to changing resident needs.
