Job Summary:

GardaWorld is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated CBSA Security Officer to join our team. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of individuals and assets within our Immigration Holding Center.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and control access to the facility, ensuring the protection of people, assets, and property.
  • Escort individuals within the facility, utilizing restraints as necessary to ensure the safety of all parties.
  • Demonstrate empathy and compassion when interacting with individuals under stress, recognizing the importance of a supportive and respectful environment.
  • Observe, monitor, and report on the behavior of detainees, utilizing security software and equipment to maintain a safe and secure environment.
  • Conduct regular foot patrols of both indoor and outdoor facilities, identifying and addressing potential security risks.
  • Generate daily incident reports, providing detailed information on any security-related incidents or concerns.
  • Utilize tactical training to de-escalate potentially dangerous situations, prioritizing the safety and well-being of all individuals involved.

Requirements:

  • A valid British Columbia security guard license.
  • A valid and current First Aid Level 1 (OFA1) certification.
  • Advanced Security Training (AST) certification.
  • Canadian citizenship or Permanent residence status.
  • A High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to pass a Public Works Clearance and a Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • 1-year of security guard experience.
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership capabilities.
  • Experience working in a high-stress environment with quick responsiveness to emergency situations.
  • Understanding of the importance of conciseness, security, and safety.
