About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiological Technologist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. As a key member of our Diagnostic Imaging department, you will be responsible for delivering patient-centered care while operating radiological/accessory equipment with minimal supervision.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in radiological technology, with a focus on diagnostic imaging. You will be responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic or therapeutic procedures, applying the ALARA principle, and remaining responsive and responsible for each patient in your care.

We are looking for a team player who is able to communicate effectively in a multidisciplinary/interdisciplinary environment, while fostering a culture of safety in the workplace. Travel to other sites may be required.

About You
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Radiological Technology
  • Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification
  • Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure
  • Previous experience is an asset
  • Qualification to work in more than one Diagnostic Imaging modality is an asset
  • Basic Life Support Certification
  • Ability to use time effectively by organizing and prioritizing duties, while working independently and under minimal supervision
  • Possess the physical capabilities to perform the duties of the position
  • Demonstrates initiative, organizational and prioritizing skills; and the ability to work collaboratively within inter-professional teams
  • Comprehension of the technical language to review and use manuals and participate in relevant discussions
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
Hours and Compensation
  • Long assignment full-time position; 75 hours biweekly
  • Approximately 18 months
  • Shift work and call required, evenings, nights, and weekends
  • $37.54 hourly
