Radiological Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Radiological Technologist to join our Diagnostic Imaging team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. Reporting to the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging, this role is responsible for delivering patient-centered care while operating radiological/accessory equipment with minimal supervision.
The successful candidate will perform a variety of diagnostic or therapeutic procedures requiring the use of ionizing radiation, applying the ALARA principle, while continuously remaining responsive to and responsible for each patient in their care. Effective communication in a multidisciplinary/interdisciplinary environment is essential, as is fostering a culture of safety in the workplace.
About YouWe are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Radiological Technology
- Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification
- Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure
- Previous experience in Diagnostic Imaging is an asset
- Qualification to work in more than one Diagnostic Imaging modality is an asset
- Basic Life Support Certification
- Ability to use time effectively by organizing and prioritizing duties, while working independently and under minimal supervision
- Possess the physical capabilities to perform the duties of the position
- Demonstrates initiative, organizational and prioritizing skills; and the demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within inter-professional teams
- Comprehension of the technical language in order to be able to review and use manuals and take part in relevant discussions
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
This is a long-assignment full-time position, with 75 hours biweekly. The successful candidate will be required to work shift work and call, including evenings, nights, and weekends. The hourly rate is $37.54.
