Job Summary:

Thomas Cavanagh Construction Limited is seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team. As a Heavy Duty Mechanic, you will be responsible for inspecting and maintaining heavy construction equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect heavy construction equipment to detect faults and malfunctions, and perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent downtime.
  • Diagnose and repair complex issues with heavy equipment using computerized testing equipment and hand tools.
  • Test repaired equipment to ensure it meets manufacturers' specifications and is safe for operation.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and supervisors to prioritize and complete maintenance tasks efficiently.
  • Stay up-to-date with manufacturer recommendations and industry best practices for heavy equipment maintenance.

Requirements:

  • Must be a certified Red Seal 421A Technician with a strong understanding of heavy equipment systems and mechanics.
  • 5+ years of experience working on heavy equipment, with a proven track record of maintaining high-quality work and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
