Cabinetmaker Job Description

Woodrose Woodworking Inc. is seeking a skilled Cabinetmaker to join our team. As a Cabinetmaker, you will be responsible for creating high-quality custom cabinets and furniture pieces using a variety of woodworking techniques and tools.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointers, mortisers, and shapers, to cut, shape, and form parts and components.
  • Shape surfaces or edges of wood workpieces using hand tools, such as planes, chisels, or wood files.
  • Instruct apprentices and provide guidance on woodworking techniques and best practices.
  • Study plans, specifications, or drawings of articles to be made and ensure accurate execution.
  • Operate CADD and other computer software systems to design and plan projects.
  • Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form complete units and reinforce joints.
  • Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain, or polish to finished products.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to company safety protocols.
Requirements:
  • Registered Apprenticeship certificate or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years or more of experience in the field of cabinetmaking and furniture craftsmanship.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
  • Organized and team-oriented with excellent communication skills.
