Job Title: Personal Support Worker – Nursing Care

Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Worker to join our team at Strathcona Long Term Care. As a Personal Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our residents.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care and support to residents, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Assist residents with daily activities, such as serving meal trays and feeding patients.
  • Perform other duties related to patient care and comfort, including weighing, lifting, turning, and positioning patients.
  • Make beds and maintain patients' rooms to ensure a clean and comfortable environment.
  • Supervise patients' exercise routines and provide support as needed.
  • Transport patients in wheelchair or stretcher, as required.
  • Answer call signals to determine patients' needs and respond accordingly.

Requirements:

  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related field.

Work Setting: Long term care center

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, combination of sitting, standing, walking.

Personal Suitability: Judgement, reliability, team player, patience.
