We are seeking a highly skilled Product Strategist to join our team at Intact Financial Corporation.
This is a key role that will involve working closely with our business teams and IT department to manage a national business backlog of priorities.
Key Responsibilities- Define the minimum viable product (MVP) and strategy to roll-out the vision.
- Collaborate with the team to define the product vision and ensure it aligns with business objectives.
- Understand the objectives of the product and the problems it's solving, and communicate this to the team.
- Manage the product backlog, prioritizing development stories and technical debt based on business priority and scope.
- Communicate progress and deadlines to stakeholders.
- Understand customer needs and how the product fits in, and use this information to inform product decisions.
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and objectives for the product, and use data analytics and feedback to ensure business objectives are met.
- Mitigate risk by raising concerns to the management team regarding product quality and proposing actions to mitigate the risk.
- Guide the activities of team members to achieve success of a project or deliverable.
- Act as a positive change agent, supporting and influencing others to adopt new approaches.
- Coach others to systematically and logically resolve problems, identify causation, and anticipate expected results.
- Work effectively and cooperatively with others, actively participating towards the completion of goals, and establishing and maintaining good working relationships.
- Convey ideas logically and simply, actively participating in meetings, and making a conscious effort to understand what people are really saying.
- Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and relevant experience.
- Between 5 and 8 years of experience in a related field.
- Commercial lines insurance knowledge required.
- CBAP certification an asset.
- Experience with large-scale or national projects.
- Planning methodology and relevant experience, and proven knowledge of Agile methodology.
- Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledgeable about the application development cycle, especially when defining requirements and stories, and a good understanding of the testing strategy.
- Ability to work on multiple projects in teams or in a matrix environment (multitasking).
- Eligible to work in Canada.
