Job Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to join our team at the City of Lethbridge. As a key member of our Facility Services Department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and functional operation of our facilities.

The Opportunity:

As our top candidate, you will be responsible for strategic leadership of building maintenance services for approximately 200 facilities under our department's purview. This will include a combination of managerial, technical resource, and field oversight roles.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and oversight on maintenance needs, preventative maintenance plans, and building maintenance responsibilities as outlined in service agreements.
  • Manage and operate Building Management Systems (BMS) to support the functionality and overall operations of our building assets.
  • Implement and manage our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to ensure efficient and effective deliverables, good asset management practices, and accurate facility records.
  • Review and promote safe work practices and ensure work is carried out in accordance with applicable codes and regulations.
  • Manage maintenance KPIs and integrate performance metrics in the delivery of our team's maintenance services.

Your Professional Skillset & Experience:

  • Journeyman certification in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and/or HVAC disciplines, or relevant training and credentials in a building-systems related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of related building industry experience, with progressively increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Prior staff management experience is an asset.
  • In-depth knowledge and work experience in building maintenance, design, construction, project management, planning, contract management, and customer service.
  • Experience and knowledge of building systems, including operations and maintenance requirements.
