Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director of Employment and Social Services to lead our team in delivering employment supports, financial benefits, and social supports to individuals in Toronto. The successful candidate will have a strong background in social services, public administration, or a related field, and will possess excellent leadership and management skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic direction and oversight to the division, ensuring alignment with the City's vision and goals.
  • Team Management: Lead and manage a diverse team of professionals, providing coaching and mentorship to foster professional growth and development.
  • Program Operations: Direct program support design activity and management processes to meet policy objectives as defined by Provincial legislation and Council.
  • Financial Oversight: Support the development of the annual budget and ensure that the portfolio's expenditures are controlled and maintained within approved budget limitations.
Requirements
  • Education: Relevant post-secondary education in Social Services, Public Administration, or an equivalent combination of work experience and education.
  • Experience: Considerable experience leading a high-performing, diverse team; ability to manage team through change, ensuring continued successful service delivery.
  • Skills: Exceptional partner management skills with the ability to manage multiple competing interests and priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Lived Experience: Lived experience as a black, indigenous, person of colour, or person with disabilities is an asset.
  • Experience with Data Access and Equity: Experience with data access and equity is an asset.
