Job Summary

EMCO Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Material Handler to join our team. As a Material Handler, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse and the timely delivery of products to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Count, verify, receive, and put away incoming vendor material and customer returns
  • Pick, pack, and ship customer orders with attention to detail to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction
  • Load and unload trucks, operate forklifts, and other material handling equipment safely and effectively
  • Perform receiving duties, including verifying material received, printing and verifying computer receiving documents, and entering material received into the computer system
  • Identify special order material and damaged material and store in proper location
  • Inform the supervisor of any inventory discrepancies, damaged/defective/non-salable material that would impact customer service levels
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness and safety, removing empty cartons, metal banding, pallets, and other debris
Requirements
  • Outstanding customer service and verbal communication skills
  • Able to develop comprehensive product knowledge
  • Able to learn to safely operate a forklift and any other material handling equipment
  • Possess a high level of attention to detail
  • Able to learn and operate the applicable software system (Trend, Eclipse) used to process orders
  • Willing to invest a minimum of 40 hours in training annually
  • Intermediate math skills – add, subtract, multiply, divide, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
  • Read, write, speak, and understand either English or French
Working Conditions

The Material Handler will be exposed to outdoor weather with no climate control, warehouses with limited climate control, and potentially hazardous equipment. The Profit Centre may stock, sell, and use hazardous materials such as PVC cement, propane gas, solvents, etc. The Material Handler will be required to handle these materials.
