Join Our Team as an Anesthesia Assistant

At Grand River Hospital, we are committed to delivering exceptional patient care and providing a supportive work environment for our team members. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Anesthesia Assistant to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide respiratory care as established by the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario (CRTO) and the standards of the hospital.
  • Participate in the care of stable surgical patients during general, regional, or local anesthesia under the clinical direction of the Chief of Anesthesia.
  • Administer anesthetic gases and medications, perform conscious sedation, and insert and monitor intravenous and arterial lines.
  • Conduct constant assessment and evaluative monitoring of the depth of anesthesia under the direct supervision of the anesthesiologist and with the use of medical directives, as applicable.
Requirements:
  • Completion of (or current enrollment in) an accredited Anesthesia Assistant (AA) Program is required.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
