Staff ASIC Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities

  1. Work as part of a world-class ASIC design team, building leading-edge chips for the Coherent Optics market.
  2. Develop subsystems in large mixed-signal optical coherent DSP ASICs.
  3. Collaborate with system architects to define specifications and micro-architectures, and develop RTL.
  4. Optimize design size, timing, and power via micro-architecture, RTL, and synthesis.
  5. Provide layout support for quality final products and timely delivery.

Requirements

  1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering is a must; higher degrees are preferred.
  2. Minimum of 2-7 years of ASIC design experience.
  3. Strong design and debugging skills, with a solid understanding of micro-architecture and implementation.
  4. Working knowledge of DSP/FEC and communication theories.
  5. Excellent problem-solving skills and good verbal and written communication skills.
  6. Good knowledge of ASIC design flow and tools, with backend knowledge being a great asset.

Desirable Skills

  1. Working knowledge of MatLab and other scripting languages.
  2. Knowledge of OTN, CAUI, and other telecom protocols.
  3. Design experience with Ethernet standards 100G to 800G would be an asset:
  • 100GE – cl45, cl49, CL82, CL91, CL119.
  • 200G, 400G – cl161, cl116.
  • 800G – 802.df/800ETA.
  • PTP 1588 Standard.
  • Ethernet frame types.
  • Packet insertion/extraction.
