We are seeking a Pediatric Neurologist to join our team at CanAm Physician Recruiting Inc.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to be involved in medical student and resident teaching, as well as contribute to clinical research and shared duties with other Pediatric Neurologists. This role offers a unique chance to work in a busy outpatient department and participate in neuromuscular and cerebral palsy clinics. Our hospital is equipped with EEG facilities for both inpatient and outpatient use, and has nursing and secretarial support available.

Responsibilities:

  • Clinical and teaching duties related to neurology
  • Participate in collaborative research activities and scholarship (e.g., teaching)

Requirements and Education:

  • Must have certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Pediatrics and Pediatric Neurology (or equivalent)
  • Must be eligible for licensure with College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador
  • Eligible for membership of the medical staff of NL Health Services;
  • Demonstrates commitment to patient-focused care and evidence-based practice
  • Satisfy credentialing requirements of Services including a satisfactory criminal record check and vulnerable sector check.

Compensation and Benefits:

The Specialist Salary Scale ranges from $263,672.00 to $285,596.00 per annum. Additional benefits include study leave, 20 days of annual leave, family leave, paid statutory days, compensatory leave, parental leave, education leave, study leave, and sick leave. Employer-sponsored RRSP and Group Insurance benefits are also provided.

Incentives:

  • A signing bonus of $100,000 is available in exchange for a return-in-service agreement of 5 years, plus an additional $25,000 if the position is considered "difficult to fill". A Come Home Incentive of $100,000 or $50,000 may be offered to physicians with ties to Newfoundland and Labrador or those without ties, respectively.
  • An annual Retention Bonus is offered in accordance with the current Memorandum of Agreement.
  • Relocation assistance includes transportation costs for furniture and household effects, sale/purchase of principal residence, shipment of vehicles, and temporary living expenses.
