We are seeking a highly skilled Power Engineer to join our team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. As a Power Engineer, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining building essential services in a safe and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate and maintain electric, gas, and oil-fired boilers, large centrifugal water chillers, and associated auxiliary equipment.
- Efficiently operate building automation systems, making adjustments when required to ensure normal operation of all building plant systems.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning and inspecting equipment, and reporting any issues or concerns to management.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operation of building systems and services.
- Grade XII education.
- Interprovincial certificate and graduate from a recognized technical school or equivalent preferred.
- Valid and current Manitoba Third Class Power Engineer's Certificate required.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to interpret mechanical, electrical, architectural, and pneumatic drawings and technical manuals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of hospital personnel.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on safety and quality.
The incumbent will work in a fast-paced environment, with varying temperatures, high noise levels, dust, odors, or fumes, and may be required to work in patient care areas under occupied conditions. The incumbent will also be required to perform duties in emergency situations, working well under pressure.
