Early Childhood Educator Assistant Leader

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator Assistant Leader to join our team at Big Dreams Early Learning Centre. This is a permanent full-time opportunity with a salary of $40,000 - $50,000 per year.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children. They will work collaboratively with early childhood educators to carry out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children.

  • Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
  • Assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
  • Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest
  • Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records
  • Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts
  • Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
  • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor
  • Submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors
  • Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings
  • Supervise and co-ordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

This role requires a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling. The successful candidate must be physically demanding and have excellent attention to detail.

We are looking for an individual with dependability, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, excellent written communication, flexibility, interpersonal awareness, judgement, reliability, team player, and values and ethics.

Experience

The ideal candidate will have 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a similar role. A secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required. We also require a valid work permit and proof of language proficiency in English.
