The Opportunity:We are seeking an experienced Supply Chain Planner to fill the role of Planning and Forecasting Specialist on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will report to the Director of Purchasing and be responsible for maintaining targeted inventory levels at a 95%+ fill rate through accurate forecasting and the use of min/max.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with Customer Service, Sales, and Purchasing teams to determine optimal inventory quantities for MRP
- Monitor large/advance orders and work with Sales to manage customer expectations and ensure timely delivery
- Continuously review and analyze forecast accuracy and variances of product categories to optimize inventory management
- Work closely with project managers and sales teams to determine new product and docket quantities
- Analyze usage data, lead times, and customer expectations to determine safety stock levels
- Review run sizes/year and PO's/year to adjust production efficiencies
- Analyze and report inventory gaps as required to prevent stockouts and overstocking
- Work with the End of Program Manager to determine phase-out strategies for obsolete programs or transition into new products
- Determine min/max levels based on usage, lead time, and safety stock levels for raw materials and finished goods
- Enter new vendors into the system to ensure seamless procurement processes
- College Diploma in Business, Operations Management, or equivalent
- CPIM designation is an asset
- 3-5 years of experience in Inventory Planning and Control
- 2-3 years of experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
- High standard of computer literacy, including MS Office
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong analytical ability and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to perform complex analysis and determine optimal outcomes
- Experience with lean initiatives and min/max optimization techniques is an asset
- A competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience
