Accounting Specialist Job Description

At Ontario Inc., we are seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist to join our team. As an Accounting Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing cheques for payroll, and reconciling accounts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll
  • Keep financial records and establish, maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems
  • Maintain general ledgers and financial statements
  • Post journal entries
  • Prepare other statistical, financial and accounting reports
  • Prepare tax returns
  • Prepare trial balance of books
  • Reconcile accounts
Requirements:
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in accounting
  • Ability to work independently
  • Attention to detail
  • Fast-paced environment
  • Overtime required
  • Repetitive tasks
  • Tight deadlines
  • Work under pressure
Working Conditions:
  • Hybrid work arrangement
  • 30 hours per week
