Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at BC Cancer in Kelowna, BC. As a Registered Nurse - Perioperative Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the perioperative setting, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including patient assessment, education, and support, in the perioperative setting.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless patient care and efficient surgical procedures.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account the unique needs and goals of each patient.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care and support.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to enhance patient care.
Requirements
- Current practicing registration as an RN with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM).
- Graduate of an advanced nursing specialty program in operating room or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Relevant clinical knowledge and experience in perioperative nursing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to patient-centered care.
