About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacist to join our team at Calgary Co-op. As a key member of our pharmacy department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction.

Job Summary

The Clinical Pharmacist will be responsible for providing clinical and patient management services to Calgary Co-op members and other patients. This includes conducting in-store clinic days or public forums on various health topics, training and developing other pharmacists, and presenting to team members, patients, and external community liaisons.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide professional services within the Alberta Health Pharmacy Services Framework.
  • Promote, organize, and conduct in-store clinic days or public forums on pharmacy areas of practice such as injections, diabetes health, respiratory health, geriatric health, travel health, tobacco reduction, or other therapeutic areas.
  • Train and develop other pharmacists in a certification area of practice.
  • Present to team members, patients, or external community liaisons (physicians, businesses, schools).
  • Assist in developing programs to meet sales objectives for professional services rendered and increase prescription volume.
  • Promote marketing and adherence programs to increase pharmacy department sales.
  • Promote specialized services and pharmacists within the local and business community and healthcare environments.
  • Assist with development of protocols and best practices for certified pharmacy staff.
  • Responsible for a minimum of eight centres.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (B.Sc. or Pharm. D.).
  • Licensed and registered with Alberta College of Pharmacists.
  • Minimum of 1 year's experience as a licensed pharmacist.
  • Authorization to Administer Medications by Injection.
  • Knowledge of provincial, federal, and company policies and procedures.
  • Administration skills, including planning and organizing, resource management, and prioritization.
  • Customer relations skills, including meeting customer needs and establishing a service environment.
  • Reading, oral communication, listening, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work different schedules to meet store and customer needs.
  • Stress tolerance and adaptability, including the ability to work productively and maintain a positive attitude when faced with difficult situations.
  • Interpersonal skills, including building relationships and conflict resolution.
  • Drive for results, including demonstrating energy and enthusiasm for new ideas and practices.
