Job Summary:

School District #8 (Kootenay Lake) is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Elementary Multi-Age Classroom Teacher to join our team. As a key member of our educational community, you will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction and support to students in a rural multi-age classroom setting.

About the Role:

We are looking for a flexible, dynamic, and creative classroom teacher who can adapt to the unique needs of our students. The successful candidate will have recent experience working with elementary-aged learners in a classroom teaching role and possess strong classroom management skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a remote or rural environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality instruction and support to students in a rural multi-age classroom setting
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students
  • Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning environment
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and stay up-to-date with best practices in education

Requirements:

  • A valid BC teaching certificate and current membership in the Teacher Regulation Branch
  • Recent experience working with elementary-aged learners in a classroom teaching role
  • Strong classroom management skills and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote or rural environment
  • Recent trauma-informed schools training (an asset)
