Job Summary:

Telecon is seeking a highly skilled Fibre Splicer to join our team. As a Fibre Splicer, you will play a critical role in the installation and maintenance of our telecommunications network. Your expertise in fibre optic cable splicing and testing will ensure the reliability and efficiency of our network.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Splice and test fibre optic cables in various applications, including aerial, burial, and underground installations.
  • Analyze test results and troubleshoot any faults or defects.
  • Interpret and understand work plans and specifications to execute tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Work outdoors in various conditions to install and maintain telecommunications cables and apparatuses.
  • Climb poles, ladders, and construction equipment to access cables and equipment.
  • Clean and maintain tools and equipment.
  • Accurately record and report project progress to supervisory personnel.

Requirements:
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license or greater.
  • 5-10 years of splicing experience.
  • Ability to complete training for working at heights and confined spaces.
  • Able to lift up to 80 lbs.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Competency in OTDR and other testing protocols.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
