About the Role:

Neighbourly Pharmacy is seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to join our team in Meadow Lake, SK. As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will be responsible for performing dispensing functions under the supervision of a pharmacist, ensuring that all tasks are completed in accordance with provincial regulations and standards of practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive and process written prescriptions from customers.
  • Locate and select prescription containers, and count/pour medication.
  • Attach labels to prescription containers and ensure that original containers, prescription container contents, and labels are checked and initialled by the pharmacist.
  • Regularly phone customers for unclaimed prescriptions.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform other tasks as outlined by the pharmacy manager or staff pharmacists, including maintaining a clean and professional pharmacy environment, managing pharmacy supplies, and answering the pharmacy telephone.
  • Assist with third-party billing, inventory control, and checking off and putting away pharmaceutical orders.
  • Maintain stocks of pamphlets/consumer information and the OTC/non-prescription sections, as designated.

Requirements:

  • Pharmacy Assistant experience is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
  • Able to work independently and have experience multi-tasking.
  • Professional attitude and ability to communicate well with customers and co-workers.
