The Opportunity

We are seeking a seasoned Director, Partner Relations to lead our growing Partner Relations team in Canada. This strategic role will provide direction and drive ApplyBoard's growth in the Canadian market.

In this position, you will oversee the Partner Relations Managers in Canada, optimizing and expanding the Canadian market for ApplyBoard. Additionally, you will support the development of partnerships with institutions across Canada, government offices, and other relevant organizations. The Director, Partner Relations will report to the Senior Director, Partner Relations to develop, implement, manage, and monitor initiatives to support students and our institution partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop the department's vision, operating principles, strategy, approach, and performance goals, aligning with ApplyBoard's goal alignment methodology.
  • Attract, develop, engage, coach, and retain a team of experienced Partner Relations Managers in Canada and build a high-performance team.
  • Collaborate with the Partner Relations Team, act as a key stakeholder, and consultant in customer experience initiatives across the company, advising on prioritization and design, and measuring outcomes.
  • Expand partnerships and market share within Canada, both in terms of the number of partners and collaboration with existing partners.
  • Develop creative solutions around challenges and issues both internally and externally.
  • Act as a subject matter expert to support institutions with internalization strategies and strategic enrollment planning.
  • Elevate ApplyBoard's brand and reputation in Canada, positioning the company as a leader in the space.
  • Lead the introduction and sales efforts of new products and services, including SAAS-based and other technology-based solutions.
  • Work cross-functionally on go-to-market strategies, forecasting, and planning.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of post-degree experience.
  • 7+ years of progressive management/leadership experience in international education.
  • 5+ years of team management, especially in developing high-performance teams.
  • 2+ years of experience in reviewing and negotiating contracts.
  • Demonstrated leadership, effective ability to interact with others, and deal with ambiguous situations.
  • Proven experience in excellent customer service to both internal stakeholders and external clients.
  • Strong problem-solving and project management skills.
  • Flexibility in adapting to change and the ability to succeed in a complex start-up environment with remote supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to use data and make business decisions using data.
  • Deliver strong presentations and proven business development skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong cooperative internal and external relationships.
