Job Summary

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Community Liaison Worker to join our team at the Low Threshold Methadone Clinic in Vancouver, BC.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide advocacy and liaison services to clients with health issues, including those taking HIV medications.
  • Screen clients for eligibility and link them to internal and external resources.
  • Advocate for clients with community and government agencies.
Qualifications
  • Completion of Grade 12 and a Welfare Aid or Social Services Certificate from a recognized college.
  • 1-2 years of experience working with marginalized client populations with complex health and psychosocial problems.
  • Valid BC Driver's license and access to a personal vehicle for business purposes.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Knowledge of community resources and services.
  • Knowledge of related issues facing clients starting or receiving HIV anti-viral therapy.
  • Working knowledge of social, emotional, and health-related problems of the client population.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to keyboard 5,000 keystrokes per hour.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
