Key Responsibilities- Provide advocacy and liaison services to clients with health issues, including those taking HIV medications.
- Screen clients for eligibility and link them to internal and external resources.
- Advocate for clients with community and government agencies.
- Completion of Grade 12 and a Welfare Aid or Social Services Certificate from a recognized college.
- 1-2 years of experience working with marginalized client populations with complex health and psychosocial problems.
- Valid BC Driver's license and access to a personal vehicle for business purposes.
- Knowledge of community resources and services.
- Knowledge of related issues facing clients starting or receiving HIV anti-viral therapy.
- Working knowledge of social, emotional, and health-related problems of the client population.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ability to keyboard 5,000 keystrokes per hour.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
