Job Description

At SHIPCART DISTRIBUTION SERVICES, we are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Operations Manager to join our team. This role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our transportation department, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate Daily Operations: Assess the performance of our transportation team and identify areas for improvement.
  • Monitor Department Performance: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of our transportation operations.
  • Plan and Organize Daily Operations: Develop and implement strategies to optimize our transportation processes.
  • Plan for Changes to Schedules and Policies: Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement changes to our transportation schedules and policies.
  • Prepare Reports for Senior Management: Provide regular reports to senior management on the performance of our transportation department.
  • Supervise Staff: Lead and manage a team of transportation professionals to ensure that all tasks are completed to the highest standard.
  • Manage Finances or Budget: Oversee the financial aspects of our transportation operations, including budgeting and cost control.
  • Arrange for Shipping Documentation and the Tracking and Tracing of Goods in Transit: Ensure that all shipping documentation is accurate and up-to-date, and that goods are tracked and traced throughout the transportation process.
  • Ensure Transport Compliance with Regulations: Ensure that all transportation operations are compliant with relevant regulations and laws.
  • Negotiate for Services and Preferential Rates: Negotiate with service providers to secure the best possible rates and services for our transportation operations.
  • Oversee the Scheduling and Dispatching of Vehicles and Goods: Coordinate the scheduling and dispatching of vehicles and goods to ensure that all transportation operations run smoothly.
  • Oversee the Setting of Transportation Service Rates and Monitor Revenue: Develop and implement strategies to optimize our transportation service rates and monitor revenue.
  • Organize and Maintain Inventory: Ensure that all inventory is accurately tracked and maintained.
  • Record Cargo Information, Hours of Service, Distance Travelled and Fuel Consumption: Record and track all relevant information related to our transportation operations.
  • Plan, Organize, Direct, Control and Evaluate Daily Operations: Develop and implement strategies to optimize our transportation processes and evaluate their effectiveness.Supervision
    • 3-4 People: Supervise a team of 3-4 transportation professionals.
