Job Title: Truck Driver - Long Haul Route Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Truck Driver - Long Haul Route Specialist to join our team at B.S Sandhu Trucking Inc. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for transporting goods and materials across long distances, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
  • Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
  • Load and unload goods, and oversee the condition of the vehicle, inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
  • Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, and oversee all aspects of vehicle maintenance
  • Transport and handle dangerous goods, and ensure the safety and security of cargo

Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license (Class 1 or A)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations
