About the Role

As a Personal Support Worker at Cheltenham Community, you will play a vital role in supporting our residents with their daily living needs, including eating, dressing, hygiene, and grooming. You will also provide assistance with communication and connections, and administer medication under the supervision of a registered health professional.

Responsibilities

  • Provide resident supervision and assistance with activities of daily living
  • Provide resident care and services, including communication and connection support
  • Administer medication under the supervision of a registered health professional
  • Ensure residents have access to mobility and assistive devices
  • Provide ongoing cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual support

Requirements

  • Completed a Personal Support Worker program from an approved college or private institution
  • Internationally educated nurses with a degree in nursing are also eligible
  • Detail-oriented and proficient in procedures and techniques involved in administering simple treatment
  • Exercise tact and diplomacy in working with seniors, their families, and general visitors
