Cyber Security Communications Specialist

As a key member of our team at ipss inc., you will play a critical role in supporting the execution of our Chief Information Security Officer's (CISO) mandate and cyber vision. Your expertise will be essential in providing business advice, support, and services to all divisions, agencies, and corporations within our organization. You will lead the development of communications strategies internally and externally to engage with all stakeholders, creating engaging content for online, email, print, and design.

You will develop and execute communications strategies to build brand awareness and boost cyber security knowledge, aligned with our objectives and strategies. This includes developing and executing communications for new programs, policies, and changes that support corporate cyber programs and initiatives. You will coordinate with our Strategic Public and Employee Communications (SPEC) division to deliver effective communications that align with our broader organizational strategy and drive measurable impact.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing communications strategies to build brand awareness and boost cyber security knowledge
  • Developing and executing communications for new programs, policies, and changes
  • Coordinating with the SPEC division to deliver effective communications
  • SUPPORTING THE CYBER AWARENESS TEAM AND AWARENESS CAMPAIGNS BY DEVELOPING A COMMUNICATIONS STRATEGY AND CRAFTING AUDIENCE-TAILORED AWARENESS CONTENT ALIGNED WITH INDUSTRY BEST PRACTICES
  • DEVELOPING AND IMPLEMENTING INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS STRATEGIES TO ADDRESS THE NEEDS OF INTERNAL STAKEHOLDERS
  • DEVELOPING AND IMPLEMENTING EXTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS STRATEGIES TO SHOWCASE AND SHARE ACHIEVEMENTS AND SUCCESSES WITH EXTERNAL STAKEHOLDERS
  • LEADING INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS, INCLUDING EMAILS AND OTHER CORRESPONDENCE, TO ENSURE CONSISTENT MESSAGING AND ENGAGEMENT ACROSS THE ORGANIZATION
  • RESPONDING PROACTIVELY TO MANAGE STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS, MEDIA RELATIONS, AND ISSUES MANAGEMENT, PROVIDING EXPERT ADVICE TO SENIOR STAFF AND OFFICIALS
  • OFFERING COUNSEL ON HIGH-LEVEL EXECUTIVE MATERIALS, INCLUDING PRESENTATION DECKS, REPORTS, AND STRATEGIC COMMUNICATION DOCUMENTS
  • PROVIDING CHANGE MANAGEMENT COMMUNICATIONS SUPPORT FOR CYBER SECURITY PROJECTS, ENSURING SMOOTH TRANSITIONS AND STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT

Qualifications include:

  • Degree in Communications, Journalism, Change Management, Business, Technology, or a related discipline
  • Extensive experience in communications or a related field
  • Extensive experience creating creative and innovative content for online, email, print, and design
  • Experience developing and executing communications strategy and/or plans
  • Experience in information security
  • Experience as a media spokesperson an asset
  • Preferred certifications: CISM, CISSP

  • Able to work extremely well under pressure while maintaining a high level of professionalism
  • Self-motivated person with desire to go above and beyond required tasks
