The Operations Director at CMHA Mid-Island Branch is a key member of our Management team, responsible for leading Human Resources, Risk Management, and Reporting processes. This role involves providing strategic leadership in planning, organizing, monitoring, and evaluating all aspects of the organization's operations. In collaboration with the Executive Director and Programs Director, you will develop and execute an operational strategy with prioritized objectives in alignment with the strategic plan and budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to direct the organization's business in accordance with all legislation, regulations, bylaws, and policies.
  • Develop and oversee the board-approved annual budget.
  • Ensure that legislative, licensing, accreditation, and insurance requirements are maintained.
  • Ensure staffing requirements are met through the entire staff lifecycle, from role development, hiring, orientation, performance evaluation, and management.
  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with CMHA Mid-Island's mission, vision, and values that promote equity, diversity, and inclusivity.

Community Relations

  • Establishes and maintains collaborative working relationships with community groups, government agencies, funders, politicians, and other organizations to achieve common goals.
  • Participates in task forces, working groups, and other committees, as well as community events.
  • Promotes CMHA Mid-Island programs and services in the community.
  • Acts as an advocate for social justice within the organization, for service users, in the community, and at the political level.

This role requires a strong leader with experience in human resources planning and management, community relations, and advocacy. You will be guided by the salary range schedule for executive, management and excluded employees provided by the Health Employers Association of BC. Extended Health Care, Dental Care, Vision Care are also provided.
