Director, Financial Accounting and Business Support

Scotiabank is seeking a seasoned professional to lead our Financial Accounting and Business Support team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial results, while also contributing to our strategic objectives.

About the Role:

  • Implement and maintain policies and procedures to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Provide expert advice and support to our trading desk on financial matters, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Manage and oversee our business operations, including internal controls and risk management.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support long-term planning and decision-making.
  • Represent the firm at various committees and working groups, as required.

Requirements:

  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of the investment business.
  • Trade life-cycle experience, including settlement and cash management.
  • Leadership and motivational skills, with experience interacting with executive management and stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinking, analytical skills, and decision-making abilities.
  • Professional accounting designation and minimum 10 years' experience in a senior management capacity.
