Job Overview

The Quality Assurance Engineer plays a crucial role in promoting plant-wide quality improvement efforts. This includes maintaining the PPAP Process and supporting functions, evaluating and developing techniques for quality and reliability, and reporting on quality management systems through process audits.

Responsibilities
  • Address customer concerns by reviewing their testing requirements and ensuring that our systems meet them.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure they meet testing requirements and oversee the PPAP process.
  • Ensure production meets specifications and quality standards.
  • Sustain the calibration system by maintaining records, calibrating gages and equipment within required time frames.
  • Provide on-site support to customers and suppliers as needed.
  • Support prototype builds (documenting according to the prototype checklist inspection process).
  • Collect SPC data and report monthly; work with manufacturing on process improvements.
  • Support manufacturing in developing job instructions and procedures.
  • Document all activities as required.
  • Maintain compliance with company guidelines, union contracts, International Quality Standards, and government regulations.
  • Determine disposition of non-conforming material and implement containment and follow-up procedures.
Qualifications
  • PREFERRED Certified Quality Engineer Certificate
  • PREFERRED 3-5 years' experience in related fields.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma principles
  • Familiarity with production processes, machines, and tools, including design and usage.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Proficiency in database applications and administration systems, specifically Microsoft Office and statistical software.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
  • Highly motivated individual with attention to detail, enthusiasm for challenges, and strong analytical ability.
Compensation Package

Estimated annual salary: $80,000 - $110,000, depending on qualifications and experience. Benefits include medical, dental, prescription, vision, life, and disability insurance, RRSP retirement savings plan, extensive safety training, new hire orientation, continuous learning and development programs, tuition reimbursement, paid holidays, and vacation time.
