Job Summary

This role is responsible for ensuring quality care is provided to residents on a 24-hour basis. The successful candidate will work closely with the Director of Care and other staff members to delegate tasks and ensure compliance with legislated standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Delegating work to staff members to ensure quality care is provided
  • Ensuring compliance with legislated standards, including those set by the Ontario College of Nurses and the Ministry of Health
  • Coordinating with other staff members to ensure a safe and healthy work environment
  • Attending mandatory-in-service training and maintaining professional relations with residents, families, and the public
  • Performing Occupational Health & Safety duties as outlined in the Corporation's Health and Safety Program
Qualifications
  • Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse
  • Medium level of physical demands associated with the job
  • Ability to communicate with the general public and fellow staff in a courteous and tactful manner
  • Previous experience in the field of geriatrics is an asset
  • Verification of a current HeartSaver Level A plus current First Aid Certificate is deemed an asset
Work Schedule

Shifts will be rotated as required to meet the needs of the Home. The successful candidate will be required to work a variety of shifts, including day, evening, and night shifts.
