About the Role

We are looking for a skilled leader who can provide leadership in safety, housekeeping, productivity, quality, and best practices. The ideal candidate will have experience in pulp and paper or another industrial environment and a strong understanding of electrical and instrumentation systems.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise a team of unionized tradespeople.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Oversee the maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and instrumentation issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Plan, schedule, and manage E&I projects.
  • Manage contractors and suppliers as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Stay current with innovative technologies and best practices in the field.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of mill operational strategies.
  • Support the production team by ensuring electrical and instrumentation systems operate efficiently.

Your Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree or other completed 2-year (minimum) post-secondary program in Engineering or another technical discipline and/or a Red Seal in an Electrical/Instrumentation trade.
  • 3+ years experience in Pulp & Paper or another industrial environment is considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems, including PLCs, DCS, and SCADA systems.
  • Knowledge of CMMS software (experience with JD Edwards E1 is an asset).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team.
  • Effective communication, organization, and people skills.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this position is estimated to be between $90,000 to $110,000 per annum, depending on experience. Meridia Recruitment Solutions offers a competitive benefits package, along with opportunities for professional growth and development.
