Job Title: Machinist

AFIMAC Canada is seeking an experienced Machinist-Welder to join our team for an upcoming assignment in the GTA. This position requires working 8.5 hour shifts, 5-7 days a week when assigned to a project.

***Please note that this is a temporary contract position, so it may not be suitable for someone currently working full-time.***

Job Responsibilities:
  • Produce moulds, machined/fabricated parts
  • Welding and brazing as required
  • Cut, drill, ream, bore, polish, deburr, and grind aluminium parts
  • Tool grinding according to customized requirements
  • Clean, fit, drill, and assemble tools
  • Assist with general maintenance and cleaning of machines
  • Handle cleaning, fitting, drilling, and assembling of tools
  • Build crates and pack tools for shipment
  • Lift and relocate materials as required
  • Working knowledge of lock out/tag out
  • Knowledge of 5S work environment
Requirements:
  • Ontario Machinist Certification
  • Min 2 years experience in machine shop
  • Experience with fabrication for making thermoforming mounds or similar applications
  • Strong working knowledge of tooling machinery - eg. Milling Machines, Lathes
  • Able to read and interpret blue prints
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work on your feet for extended periods of time
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, technical, and communication skills
  • Fluent command of the English language (both written and verbal)
