Job Title: Construction Labourer and Helper

We are seeking a skilled Construction Labourer and Helper to join our team at Right Choice Builders Inc.

Job Summary:

The Construction Labourer and Helper will assist in various construction tasks, including loading and unloading materials, measuring weights, and performing pre-operational inspections. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, be physically fit, and have excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Load, unload, and transport construction materials
  • Measure weight to prepare for rigging and hoisting
  • Perform pre-operational inspection
  • Clean and lubricate cranes
  • Instruct apprentices
  • Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt
  • Assist in aligning pipes during pipeline construction
  • Assist in drilling and blasting rock on construction sites
  • Assist in framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs
  • Level earth to fine grade specifications
  • Pave and rake asphalt
  • Assist in demolishing buildings
  • Clean and pile salvaged materials
  • Perform routine maintenance work
  • Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants
  • Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites
  • Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction
  • Direct traffic at or near construction sites
Work Environment:

The Construction Labourer and Helper will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. The ideal candidate will be able to work under pressure, have manual dexterity, and be able to handle heavy loads.

Requirements:
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required
  • Experience: Will train
  • Physical demands: Physically demanding, fast-paced environment, work under pressure
  • Language: English
  • Work hours: 35 hours per week
