Director of IT Job Description

VenorTalent is seeking a highly skilled Director of IT to lead our technology operations and drive business success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the installation, maintenance, and upgrade of hardware and software systems, including servers, workstations, and peripherals.
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for hardware, software, and services.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for IT operations.
  • Lead a team of IT professionals and collaborate with other departments to ensure technology is being used effectively to meet business needs.
  • Participate in strategic planning as a member of the senior leadership team, contributing to the development of strategies and methodologies to integrate and optimize the organization's strategy, roadmap, and tactics.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in a large IT environment with multiple locations and complex technology systems.
  • Strong technical knowledge of hardware (cloud and on-prem), software, network infrastructure, and security systems.
  • Experience managing a team of IT professionals and collaborating with other departments.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, related field, or equivalent experience/education.
